1 (10 oz) French bread, cut into 1 inch cubes ( 10 cups)
8 eggs
3 cups milk
4 tsp sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
3/4 tsp salt (optional)
Topping
2 Tbsp butter, cubed
3 Tbsp sugar
2 tsp ground cinnamon
Maple Syrup or honey (optional)
Cool Whip (optional)
Fruit, for topping (optional)
1) In a mixing bowl, beat eggs, milk, sugar, vanilla and salt (if desired).
2) Place bread in a 9x13 pan then pour ingredients over bread.
3) Cover and refrigerate for 8 hours or overnight.
4) Remove from the refrigerator 30 minutes before baking.
5) Dot with butter.
6) Combine sugar and cinnamon; sprinkle over the top.
7) Cover and bake at 350° for 45 to 50 minutes or until a knife inserted comes out clean.
8) Let stand 5 minutes.
