1 lb fresh green beans (cleaned)
2 medium onions peeled and thinly sliced (vidalia's preferred)
1 Tablespoons brown sugar, firmly packed
2 teaspoon cider vinegar
3 slices of cooked and crumbled bacon (optional)
1. Cook green beans in boiling water for 10 minutes or until bright green and crisp tender.
2. Rinse with cold water and set aside.
3. Cook onion in a large non-stick skillet over medium heat for 15 to 20 minutes stirring often or until onions are golden brown.
4. Reduce heat to medium and add brown sugar and vinegar.
5. Stir to combine.
6. Add green beans and bacon and heat for 5 minutes or until beans are heated through.
