1/4 cup vinegar or lemon juice
1 to 2 tablespoons sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon celery seeds
1 large cucumber, halved lengthwise and thinly sliced (3 cups)
1 small onion, thinly sliced (1/3 cup)
In a covered container combine vinegar, sugar, salt and celery seeds. Add cucumber and onion; mix to coat. Cover and chill at least 4 hours or up to 5 days; stir occasionally. Stir before serving.
